Hendricks Deserves The Credit Too!
This weekend in Homestead-Miami, history will be attempted. Jimmie Johnson and Chad Knaus will be vying for their 4th consecutive NASCAR Championship in a row. No doubt a feat that may never be challenged again.
But would Johnson and Knaus have this much success if wasnt for car owner Rick Hendricks?
Hendricks has a knack of putting people in the right places at the right time, and making everything workout perfectly. Look at Jeff Gordon and Ray Evernham in the 90's when they dominated the circuit.
Hendricks Motorsports is the team everyone is after and envy. He has compiled the biggest names in the business under one roof, and it has paid dividends for him.
Hendricks has 8 NASCAR Championships under his belt, and more than likely have one more to add this weekend. More then any other owner in history. He has 188 wins as an owner. His cars have led more than 49,000 laps dating back to 1984. Hendricks has amassed almost $313 million in winnings.
Some say that HMS is like the New York Yankees. Buying their championships. He has the most skilled, determined drivers in the business. He funds his motor programs, and research and development teams with his own money, and every employee is contracted to secrecy. He wants to win.
Hendrick succeeds because of the dedication he has in HMS. He listens to his drivers, and crew chiefs. He doesnt fix things that are not broke.
Hendricks has his car dealerships. But he doesnt have his hands in a whole lot of other interests. First comes his race teams and employees.
So when Jimmie Johnson wins his 4th Nascar Championship in a row this weekend, the first person he needs to thank and hug is Rick Hendricks. If it wasnt for Hendricks desire, dedication and determination to win, Johnson might not be running for a championship.
Rick Hendricks is a champion too!
