Introduction
In spite of all of the talk, let's not get our hopes up New York fans - cause it's not happening.
Lebron a Knick in 2010?
Don't hold your breadth Knick fans
We're in the midst of a great NBA season, but what's crazy to me is one of the most talked about stories of the year is what's going to happen in 2010.  2010!  True, it's one of the greatest free agent markets in recent NBA history (including keynotes Amare, Wade and Bosh) but let's stop all of this Lebron in New York talk cause it's not happening.  Here's 10 reasons why:

10) It Ain't Broken: King James is pretty freakin' happy right now, as he should be.  The Cavs are playing top notch ball, team chemistry is great on and off the court, and all of this reflects in their record, which is currently the best in the NBA!

9) A Potential Championship: If the Cavs win it all in 2009 or 2010, forget about it.  Done.  Over.  Us Knick fans shouldn't even dream of the possibility.  What superstar would leave his team after winning an NBA Championship?  Unheard of.  Yes, there is a real possibility that the Cavs win it all one of the next two seasons (remember how close they came to toppling the Celtics LAST YEAR, in seven games, without home court, and without Mo Williams)?

8) Very Solid Supporting Cast: Mo Williams has been a huge addition to the team.  Solid bigs in Big Z and Ben Wallace, solid minutes out of Delonte West and Pavlovic, Szczerbiak is there to pop in a couple of open 3's (is it just me or does he not jump?), Varejao puts in some quality production, and let's not forget about Boobie!!  Look, we're not talking about the Dream Team here but that's 9 guys who can hold their own on both sides of the court (well maybe not Big Ben on the offensive side of things).

7) "Money Money Money, Money...Money!!": Simply put, the Cavs can offer Lebron more of it.  They can max him out at $133MM over 6 years compared to best any other team can do is $102MM over five years.  Yeah, yeah, there's the endorsements in larger markets, but still, for those non-math majors out there, that's still almost a couple of mil less, on a per year basis.

6) Home Sweet Home:  Have you watched a Cavs home game?  That arena is absolutely rocking! 19-0 at home.  I repeat: 19-0 home.

5) He can watch the Yankees on TV:  I feel like this article wouldn't be complete without a mention of the "wearing a Yankees hat at the Indians game incident."  The broader point here is that there really hasn't been any true indication that Lebron even wants to play for the Knicks.  Yes, I'm sure there have been whispers between Lebron and his boy Jay-Z, but last I checked, Jay-Z is part owner of the Nets, not the Knicks.

4) The Possibility of Another Superstar in Cleveland:  Remember that short list of other superstars (Wade, Bosh, Amare) also becoming free agents in 2010?  Well hats off to Cleveland management who have orchestrated its salary cap leaving open the REAL possibility that one of those guys comes and suits up with him in CLEVELAND, not New York ("Yo Chris, what do you say you ditch Canada, join me and my posse here in Cleveland, and we kick everybody's a$$ for the next few years?  What the hell were you doing in Toronto for so long in the first place?")

3) Knicks Supporting Cast (or lack thereof): How many players on the current Knick roster were drafted in the first SEVEN rounds of your Fantasy Basketball draft?  I'm guessing ZERO (maybe one, for those GMs smart enough to draft David Lee) but you get my point.

2) The Patrick Ewing Curse: When your franchise trades away the centerpiece of its organization, possibly the greatest Knick of all-time, the man who kept the Garden rocking over two decades, at the tail-end of his career - bad things happen.  The Lebron debate was over even before it started.  Not happening.

1) Someway, somewhere, somehow...Isiah Thomas will find a way to screw it up!!!

Long live the King!  Lebron in NYC in 2010!!

Offlinebeat_this says .. on 15/1/09 Nice work, I want LeBron to come to NY, but at this point I think he is staying in Cleveland.

I would've liked to see Lebron James paired with another superstar. I would honestly like to see another great legendary dynasty.
If it could be the Knicks, that would be great, but as of now I do think Lebron is likely to be staying if nothing special is going to happen in the play-offs.
OfflineSaigo says .. on 16/1/09 The rumored talks between Jay Z and Lebron supposedly were about the possibility of The Nets moving to Brooklyn, in which case Lebron would definitely end up in New York. Whether or not they`ll move is another story....they probably wont. I agree though, enough is enough with this 2010 talk. I feel like this season is going to be one of the best in NBA history.
Offlinezoohoot says .. on 16/1/09 Great article. Stay in Cleveland, Lebron!
OfflineKobeFan92 says .. on 21/1/09 There are totally different people in the front office than there were in Ewing's time. #9 is stupid.
