The Angels activated Hunter from the 15-day disabled list Saturday night and optioned outfielder Reggie Willits to Triple-A Salt Lake.

Hunter went on the disabled list July 10 with a groin injury. He recently completed a rehabilitation assignment with Double-A Arkansas. Hunter was originally set to come off the DL on Saturday, but he missed his final rehab game with what Angels manager Mike Scioscia referred to as "some kind of viral thing." After missing 32 games, Hunter is expected to start for the Angels on Sunday. He's batting .305 with 17 homers and 65 RBIs.
