Rodriguez is 4 for 8 with five RBIs in the postseason. The third baseman had driven in just one run in his previous 16 postseason games, hitting .143.

  Jered Weaver Weaver pitched 7 1-3 innings against the Red Sox on Friday for a Game 2 win for the Angels.

Weaver gave up one run and two hits while striking out seven. In 21 innings against Boston this year, Weaver allowed two earned runs and 10 hits while striking out 19.

  Joe Nathan Nathan was charged with a blown save in Minnesota's loss to the Yankees on Friday in Game 2.

Nathan, who blew five save opportunities during the regular season, gave up a two-run home to Alex Rodriguez to tie the game. It was the first multi-run homer Nathan has allowed all year.

  Andre Ethier Ethier fell a single shy of hitting for the cycle Saturday against the Cardinals.

Etheir drove in two runs in the victory to complete a productive NLDS. He was 6 for 12 with two doubles, tow homers, a triple and three RBIs in a sweep of St. Louis.

  After dropping the ball that led to Thursday's loss, Holliday went 0 for 4 Saturday as St. Louis was swept by the Dodgers.

Holliday, who helped lead St. Louis to the playoffs after being traded in July, went 2 for 12 with a homer and two strikeouts in the postseason.

It won't keep him from catching and hasn't seemed to effected him at the plate. He's 4 for 8 with a double. Mauer suffered the injury during the play-in game against the Tigers on Tuesday.

  Padilla pitched seven scoreless innings against the Cardinals on Saturday to complete the three game sweep.

Padilla gave up four hits and struck out four. George Sherill and Jonathan Broxton pitched in relief. The veteran right-hander, who was released by the Rangers in August, had never pitched in the postseason. It was his longest start with the Dodgers.

  Manny Corpas Corpas' return this season still remains questionable following right elbow surgery. He's currently throwing in the Arizona Instructional League.

Corpas, who hasn't pitched since July 20, has been on the disabled list following surgery to remove bone spurs from his throwing elbow. It's possible he'll be available to help the Rockies late in the regular season or in the playoffs should they ...
