Dale Earnhardt is surely turning over in his grave as you read this.
The latest rumor out of EGR is that next season they will drop their engine partnership with RCR and leave Chevrolet to field Toyotas. That's right the company that was founded by the late great Dale Earnhardt is looking to form a relationship in which they will field Toyotas in 2010.
If Toyota can't provide the engines then they are looking to Joe Gibbs Racing as a potential engine supplier.
Congratulations Teresa Earnhardt. The destruction of what was once one of the great up and coming teams of Nascar is almost complete then you can continue to just profit off your late husband's name and image.

If their looking for a better engine, what's the problem? If that's not the real issue at hand, and it's all about $$$$ then that's another story and I completely understand. Which is it?
It's all about which manufacturer will offer them the most. The problem is that with the way the team has been run into the ground by Teresa it wont matter to the manufacturer because the big money goes to the best teams.
This is a fishing expedition by Teresa because seeing as they are no longer considered one of the top teams they can't hold onto the sponsors.Within the next 2 years Ganassi will leave the merger with Earnhardt and DEI will collapse completely.
This is just the latest move in the demise of a once great company. It will also cost Teresa a lot down the road because there will be a huge backlash amongst fans of the late Dale Earnhardt who will not take kindly to the fact that she has left the American motor companies behind to link the DEI name and image with a Japanese company.

Well with this move she will complete the destruction of DEI. She would have done so much better had she just let someone control the race operations instead of having to keep everything under her exclusive control.

OK sorry all of you BUT the way I see it is Theresa was what made DEI what it was. Without her connections,it wouldnt have been what it had become. Granted, I agree that the company has taken a dive since his death but it is her company and name to do with as she pleases. Yup its all about the money, thats the business world and what we as fans might see as a bad move might be the best move for her and YES her bottom line! Sorry thats how I see it!

Even with her connections there is no DEI without seven time Champion Dale Earnhardt starting it.Without Dale there is no way Teresa could have started a racing organization.Her connections may have helped her get into the racing scene but it was Dale's accomplishments that led to the deal with Chevrolet.
The reason that DEI was what it had become was due to Dale's relationship with Richard Childress.Childress provided a great deal of help to Dale with getting DEI up and running.Teresa was smart at marketing but to say that without her connections DEI wouldn't have become the great organization it was couldn't be more false.
Yes it's her company to with as she pleases but it has been her directly that has brought about the downfall of the team and now all she is doing is turning the name and likeness of the late great Dale Earnhardt into nothing more than another advertisement.
Irregardless of what manufacturer she tries to go with the fact is that she can't get or keep sponsors which means that going to Toyota is just prolonging the inevitable.

She introduced Dale to Richard. Bottom line is it is hers to do with as she pleases. I mean If you were to die, wouldnt you want BBG to use anything you accomplished in Your life together to live the life she is accustomed to? However she can? I just get tired of hearing everyone micro manage a business they know nothing about. What she should do What she shouldnt do, who she should hire or let go. She is a business woman, shes going to do what makes sense for her. Hell why not live off what Dale gave her, A name big enough to sustain her for the rest of her life if thats all she wanted to do with it. The team is second in income compared to endorsements and marketing of His name and likeness.
I wouldn't want BG88 to totally destroy something that I started to keep my family name going and to be there for ALL my children.The whole reason Dale started the company was to provide for his family and have a place for future generations of Earnhardts to have a team that would help their careers.
