Lackey seems getting farther and farther away. So i looking at other pitchers. I guess a Jason Marquiss(bad spelling) is okay, but i want a stud behind johan. I heard that Wang was released by the yankees. He' s pretty young and he wasn't injury prone until last year. A guy who wins two 19 wins season in a row is a stud to me. Plus he's in his 30s. Another guy is Ben Sheets. But i don't like him though.

Ben Sheets is like Mark Prior, except Ben has been able to be a tad bit healthier. I would not take a chance on him. His only saving grace would be that big ballpark up there.

Except that Sheets has multiple 200 inning seasons, is a way better pitcher then Prior developed in to and has only had the one big injury as opposed to 978687569875689 injuries for Prior.

Sheets has massive upside.

I really want the Yankees to sign Sheets. I don't think he'll cost too much.

He'll cost more than Harden.

The Harden deal was reasonable. I'd give him $10 million.

I'm sure you would. I am not sure the Yankees are going to spend 10 million on a #4 who could end up easily being hurt. I would like him as well, pitching depth with that upside is nice, however offers from teams like the Mets who need a starter much more are probably going to attain his services.

I'd think a team like the Mets would want someone who's not coming off shoulder surgery and hasn't pitched since 2008.

I still can't believe they signed him. He's only good for 140-150 innings, then he gets "dead arm".

At the same time, his health is also an issue like Prior's was. I am very cautious about Sheets running another 200 inning season out there again.

I don't think any team signing Sheets is expecting 200 innings from him. However anything close to his 2008 level over 150-160 could be incredibly valuable in this market.

When sheets is healthy, he is amazing. But when he's hurt, he is as good as oliver perez. A team could sign him for a low contract for a year. That way, you can see how he pans out.

Wang got injured in 2008 and then this year. I wouldn't call him injury prone, but he's also not as good as people think he is.

Well i believe he's better than a Jason Marquiss. We have enough of him in Oliver perez , john maine and pelfrey.

The Mets need what the yankees have. A one-two punch. If the mets sign lackey, the mets immediately become a much better team. A marquiss isn't the answer. we need a stud.

The Mets need a fuck load more then 1 starter. A new team physician would be a good place to start.

I believe the Mets have to take some gambles with the pitching rotation especially with Lackey going to Boston. Why not offer contracts to Sheets, Wang , and Bedard. If one of them works out you will be in good shape.

Why are the mets trying to sign a groundball pitcher if they play in the biggest ballpark in the MLB?
