Dumb quotes from tonight's game. Newer »
So far, according the TBS announcers, Kershaw has been described by the Dodgers coaching staff as "a younger version of Derek Jeter" with "as good of stuff as Sandy Koufax"

The Koufax comparisons have been streaming in for about a year now. The Jeter comment was new, and probably more stupid for more reasons than I care to list.
I didn't realize quite possibly one of the greatest Yankee's ever got compared to a 2nd year pitcher.
Torre is awesome. I'm glad he's the Dodgers HC.

Darling or Buck said his curve ball "had just enough to get it by a hitter". He then proceeded to throw an unhittable curve ball to Ibanez. I am guessing he is somewhere in between Sandy and whatever the hell the announcers were describing.
In all seriousness, Kershaw is probably the best U-25 pitch in baseball not named Felix Hernandez.
And to the disgrace's defense, Carey also said his CB had "just enough" to get someone out when in reality it is a mega, mega boss, awesome pitch.

"hamels has two pitches, a fastball and a changeup. How he pitched will be determined by his curveball" I think that was eck who said that
I'm not sure how much hype a 21 year old who just put up a 2.79 ERA, 1.23 WHIP, .200 BAA and 9+K/9 in his second full season needs.
well whatd ya know, the TBS announcers have caught that same disease that has been sweeping through NBC, ABC, and ESPN announcers. I think it was called "suckadudesdicksowewillgetmoreviewers-itis"
he's amazing

Try living in pa. and all you hear is how great cole hamels and cliff lee and combined I believe they had a .500 record between them, so i don't want to hear about hype machine-I hear it everyday here!
Born & raised Pennsylvanian + I'm usually there about 2 months of the year
and you missed the point
and your wrong - Phillies fans are about as critical a crowd as is allowed by law. I haven't heard a good thing about Hamels from a Phillies fan in about a year.
