Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! Names that come to mind of course Reggie Miller and Ray Allen these two have been some of the most efficent and clutch shooters the game has seen. The one question you ask your friend whos better Ray Ray or Reggie.

Now for the debate I will start by breaking down Reggie Miller and his stats. Reggie Miller a 6'7 SG, who played for the Indiana Pacers from 1987-2005. During this time Reggie Miller racked up one of the most impressive careers in NBA history. Reggie Miller has made 2,560 three pointers, tho he has made the most in NBA history he has also attempted more three pointers than anyone to ever play the game thus making him not have the best three point percentage. Reggie led the league in 3 pointers made three different times in his career. Reggie also held the record for most made in a single season with (229) which would stand for 10 years. Miller is only 41st alltime in 3 point %. Reggie has made 8,241 field goals in his career, finishing his career with a .471 FG%. Reggie Miller has made 6237 free throws in his career ranking 13th alltime. He has a career FT% of an impressive .888 which ranks 9th alltime. You also have to factor in Reggie's ability to make the big shot when needed.

Now for Ray Allen. Ray Allen is 6'5 SG who has played for Milwaukee, Toronto, the artists formally known as the Seattle Super Sonics, and now the Boston Celtics. Ray Allen has played 13 years and is still going strong in Boston. Ray Allen has made 2,299 three pointers in his career he is only 261 away from Reggie, which means if he keeps doin what hes doin he will break his record for sure he could do it this season(Which would have to be a hell of a year) his career high for 3 pointers in a season is (269) which is the most ever my an NBA player in a single season. Ray Allen has attempted 5,777 three pointers in his career which is second alltime behind Reggie. His three point percentage is .398% which is .3 higher than Reggies. You also have to consider that Ray Allen still has a couple more years left and his numbers could go down in this category. Ray has mad 6,865 Field goals in his career which is only 63 alltime, I dont see him catching Reggie in this category. Ray has made 3,632 free throws in his career which is alot less than Reggie. Ray Allen has made a remarkable total of 19,661 total points in his career thus far making him 38th alltime he still has time to climb up in that category. Ray Allen is also said to be a very clutch shooter. Some people say the thing that seperates Reggie from Ray is the Championship ring that Ray has that he got with the Celtics 2 years ago. You have to consider the players around Ray Ray his supporting cast included Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce, Rajon rondo. Reggie on the other hand has had great players with him but nothing with a roster like the Celtics did a few years back.
Now lets compare their stats
14 years in the NBA 18 years in the NBA
Ray Allen/ Reggie Miller
_________ ___________
Three Pointers made- (2,299) (2,560)
Three Point Percentage- (.398) (.395)
Field Goals Made- (6,865) (8,241)
Field Goal Percentage- (.448) (.471)
Free Throws- (3,632) (6,237)
Assists- (3,545) (4,141)
Steals- (1,140) (1,505)
Total Points- (19,661) (25,279)
So we have here Reggie leading in 7 of these 8 categories. But to make an exception Reggie will most likely break his three pointers made, has a decent chance to pass him in assists, and most likely pass him in steals.
So you pick and choose whos better now and who will be better at the end of their career.

all you did was provide a biography.
does it look like I wanna see their career totals. break that shit down per game averages.

But in the end it doesnt matter what you had per game man it matters what you did as a whole. Babe Ruth was recognized for going to the hall of fame cause he averaged 47 homers a year was he..............no. Stats matter as whole here this isnt fantasy basketball.
Oh my God.
Look at CAREER TOTALS, dood.
Fine. You want a reason why Ray > Reg?
Because Reggie Miller had a very sucky ending to his career. He played past his prime.

thats not very good logic..... we dont say dominique wilkins over jordan cause jordan played past his prime....
that would be assanine..... alot of players play past there "prime" cant hold that against them !

Jordan didn't play past his prime. He was still putting up efficient seasons when he was playing the back end.
he certainly played past his prime.... putting up effiecent numbers and the numbers tallied in his prime were not the same or 2 the same degree....
thats playing past his prime...
is what u may mean is reggie millers game deteriated a considerable amount at the end of his career but mostly EVERY player plays past there "prime" yrs....

I like Reggie, he was my favorite player growing up and i just wished he could have gotten past the Bulls once.
Good writeup though you really shouldn't be using career totals especially for things measured per game like points and assists. I'd say Reggie is the better shooter but Allen is the better player.
You shouldn't use career numbers you should use per game numbers

while Reggie is easily my favorite player of all time, Ray Allen is better, but both are spectacular players
YEA I THINK RAY ALLEN IS THE BETTER PLAYER
REGGIE MILLER WAS ONE OF THE GREATEST SHOOTERS EVER!
BUT!!!!...I THINK ALLEN HAS HIM SLIGHTLY JUST BECAUSE OF HIS PER GAME

Ray Ray > Reggie no doubt
You didnt list anything special that would make me change my mind...i would assume Reggie has played more games, by quite a bit, which would make his stats (the ones you listed) obviously better...what abt per game? Advanced? Etc.....

i think i will have to say that Reggie was the better player. he is one of the greatest nba players and he was the Pacers franchise player for years. Reggie was one of the greatest clutch shot specialist.
Reggie was awsome but by the time ray is done that 3 point recond is going to be destroyed!! Ray does so much more then reggie ever did. Ray is way more athletic to. Ray's game is way better then reggie's.
ps.. Biggest ray allen fan in the world.
