They are 11-0 with one last big game to go. The Cincinnatti Bearcats if they defeat the Pitt Panthers Dec, 5th they deserve a chance at the National Title. Now i know what everyone is thinking they havent beat anyone they cant hang with an "elite" college football team, but wasnt the same said 2 years ago about Boise St. when they played Oklahoma? Weren't the Utah Utes ruled out as having no shot at beating the Crimson Tide? Yes they were and if the Bearcats were to go to 12-0 the same thing would be said about them. But the Bearcats are a great football team they have shown they can win the close games and they have shown consistantly they will put points on the board. Tony Pike is one of if not the best quarterback in the country and if he didnt get hurt this year he could be a Heisman canadite. Marty Gilyard is an explosive wide out and return man who can change the game in seconds.

December 5th Heinze Field will prove what type of team Cincy is, it will test them. The Bearcats can scor on any team and there defense while at times can be shakey but it does the job when they need to.

Now im sure all the people on Tebow's sack will say that they wouldnt be able to beat Florida, but anyone can beat anybody if given the oppertunity, again jus look at history with the smaller schools against the big names. Boise St against Oklahoma, Utah against Bama, App State against Michigan (not a bowl game but still a small school givin an oppertunity).

Im not saying they are the best but if they run the table to 12-0 they deserve a chance at the National Title. Anyone can beat anybody espically the Bearcats.

That may be true, but are you then saying that TCU wouldn't deserve a shot? They are going to be 12-0 if they beat New Mexico. Don't forget that it was TCU who beat the snot out of BYU (on BYU's homecoming, I might add).

Nice to talk to you again by the way!

That may possibly be true, but the potential problem there lies in something I heard on ESPN during the Tennessee/Vandy game. The announcers were saying that TCU was a lock for an at large BCS bowl game. Granted they don't always know a lot (afterall it IS Espn, lol), but that seems to put TCU first in line for the rewards of a potential disaster outing in a championship game by Florida, Alabama, or Texas. Everyone likes to think about what will happen if Alabama loses today against Auburn and what would then happen if Alabama beat Florida. However, what happens if Nebraska pulls a shocker against Texas in that championship game?

Okay, let me just throw out a real nightmare situation for the BCS. Alabama loses today (7 point game in the 3rd right now), beats Floriday in the SEC champ. game. Then Nebraska beats Texas in the Big 12 champ. game. You realize what that would probably mean...... Cincinnati vs. TCU for the championship.

LOL let the nightmares for the BCS begin.

You can't compare what Boise, Utah and App St. did to a N.C. game. The situations are far too different. The mentality of Okahoma and especially Alabama and Michigan compared to lets say Florida in the N.C. couldn't be more different. Alabama was a team that was very disappointed they didn't get a shot in the title game and expected to roll over Utah. Michigan vs. a D-2 opponent, don't need to explain that one. Oklahoma just wasn't that much better than Boise to begin with, but they probably didn't expect a fight from the Broncos either. The point is, regardless of the opponent, the team in the N.C. game is going to be completely focused and there's no doubt that Cinci would get Florida's best game. Boise, Michigan and Utah did not get their opponent's best efforts.

That said, there should be a playoff and Cinci should get their chance. But how good of a chance that is doesn't really matter.

I agree with you 100%. I'm not even saying that Cincinnati or TCU may have a chance at beating one of the top 3 teams, but the opportunity for them to try should at least be available. Great point!

I don't think Cincinnati could hang around with Florida, Alabama, or Texas.

I agree that they deserve a shot at the title, but I don't think they would win it.

Cincy is a great team and have had a great year but in the system we have, it does not look like it will happen for them. If they do go undefeated, I would love to see them play TCU. I dont think Cincy would beat Texas, Alabama, or Florida but it would be fun to see. Now they will face a very upset Pitt team. Next week will be fun.

Texas vs Florida/Bama would draw a bigger crowd, thus meaning more money.
Texas vs Cincy, Bama vs Cincy, Florida vs Cincy....it won't draw as big a crowd.

Its all about money. I'm all for it though, but to the BCS, its not.
This year would be the perfect year for a playoff.
