remember all the weak defenses UConn played last year, and how everybody took Brown lightly? How Javon Ringer was THAT much more impressive than Donald Brown? Really?

Let's read some quotes from fellow RZer's last year when i made a thread.

"competition is weak for uconns brown"

"And the same could be said for MSU? I agree they haven't played the beef of their schedule yet, but UConn has played Hofstra, Temple, Virginia, Baylor, and Louseville? Those powerhouses are 8-13 on the year...and those wins came against Rhode Island, Stony Brook, Army, Richmond, NW State, WSU, Tennessee Tech, and Kansas State, and those teams are 15-23. So they've beaten a bunch of teams who have only beaten a bunch of teams that are terrible. MSU's opponents are 10-11 and are at least football schools like Cal, ND, and a big ten opponent in Indiana. Donald Brown isn't in the Heisman talk and it's because he doesn't deserve to be."

"Yes.. he rushed for all that against hostra, temple and virginia.. swiss cheese defenses."

"I saw UCONN play this year. I actually wasn't overly impressed by Brown."

2008 stats:

Javon Ringer: 390 attempts, 1,637 yards, 22 TD's

Donald Brown: 367 attempts, 2,083 yards, 18 TD's

NFL stats:

Javon Ringer: none

Donald Brown: 132 Rushing yards, 125 Receiving yards, 2 TD's. All this is done on 38 rushing attempts, and ONLY 5 receptions. all while sharing time with Joseph Addai who does most of the work. Look for DBrown to have big seasons in the upcoming years.

At this time, i will be accepting apologies.

Remember how Donald Brown got drafted by a team that needed a back-up RB for a oft injured starting RB, while Ringer got drafted behind the best young RB in the NFL and Lendale White?

still doesn't explain why Brown got drafted that much higher than Ringer. They could have drafted Ringer in that spot. No?

The Raiders could have drafted Crabtree and instead they took DHB.

Why did they do that?

Why did Michael Oher fall to the 22nd pick with the Ravens?

Why did the Eagles move up spots to get Maclin, when he would have been there anyway?

my point is that they are both RB's. obviously it was something they saw in Brown. same with the Raiders in Bey.

Al Davis saw speed, that was it. DHB has done NOTHING this year...in fact even that Crabtree hasn't played he's already done more than DHB has done.

My point is...

Ringer hasn't played. You can't compare a player who has played to one who hasn't played. Its absolutely stupid.

some players can't make the transition to the NFL as well as others can...And scouts can predict that many times, which is why Ringer was a later round pick...Other times they can't and they turn out to be busts...so I mean that doesn't make Brrown the better player last year (in college)...I like him though cuz he's a local guy and he's been very good for the Colts, and I think he was better than Ringer in college anyway, but his success in the NFL doesn't mean he was a better college player
