I believe that if Tomlinson gets cut (which i think will happen within the next two years), he wont be signed to a team for a starting job. Over the past years RBs have been very easy to find (even late in the draft). For someone to pay Tomlinson the money he will want would just be ridiculous, he obviously doesnt look the same anymore.

Cuz when he is on the field he still produces. There arent many teams that can use a starting RB but I do think wherever he goes he will get close to 50/50 in carries

50/50 is the most he will get i think. but who would pay a guy the money LT wants, just to get 50% of the carries?

He said at the start of the year he felt better than any other point in his career and still watched his numbers fall. LT has a chance to be an excellant back up or 2 back but is 2 much of a ego maniac to accept that role. hes done.

He will probably be cut this offseason because of his large contract. He will, however, find a team willing to pay him. They probably won't pay as much as he wants, but he would work in a two-back system.

Shaun Alexander's whole career should be listed as the accomplishments of OT- Walter Jones and G- Steve Hutchinson. LT didn't need the best Tackle and Guard in the league to produce his numbers.

I know that LT was a way better back than Alexander.

he's wasn't wayyy better back in those days. Shaun was the fastest Rb to reach 100 rushing TD's in history and broke the single season td record in the 05-06 season. Those were then broke by LT the following year. So if you think LT was a way better back why would you think he'd turn into what Shaun became after leaving the hawks?

just a little. LT is a top 5 all time back. any team would want him just not at the price he'd like to get. He's not gonna produce like he did. which is a given but he's still a versatile back. He's got a knack for getting into the end zone. That alone will warrant a few mill per season.

there is a possiblity, but Pats paying a guy that much for how many carries they give their RBs. And LT said he is the best back, would he want that money?

Now this is how it looked once both players hit their big season….

LT
2006 # of carries: 348, 1815 yards for a 5.2 yards per carry with 28 TD’s
2007 # of carries: 315, 1474 yards for a 4.7 yards per carry with 15 TD’s
2008 # of carries: 292, 1110 yards for a 3.8 yards per carry with 11 TD’s
2009 # of carries: 223, 730 yards for a 3.3 yards per carry with 12 TD’s

Shaun
2005 # of carries: 370, 1880 yards for a 5.1 yards per carry with 27 TD’s
2006 # of carries: 252, 896 yards for a 3.6 yards per carry with 7 TD’s
2007 # of carries: 202, 716 yards for a 3.5 yards per carry with 4 TD’s
2008 # of carries: 11, 24 yards for a 2.2 yards per carry with 0 TD’s

Cleary LT has not fallen off the map and that says he is much better back than Shaun was after his big season. Shaun fell off the map. Counting Injures as a leading factor to his downfall…But LT is a much better back than Shaun was. Even if Shaun got 100 TDs faster than anyone else…..

Injuries had nothing to do with Shaun's down fall. Losing the leagues best Tackle and Guard was his down fall. He benefited from them. the guy was slow as hell and couldn't break tackles. Walter Jones and Steve Hutchinson just cleared huge lanes for him to run through. LT was a better back then and now. I never once said that Shaun was better then him. no need to copy and paste the stats.i've seen them countless times and know them. That 2005 season was the year we went to the Super Bowl and in 06' Hutchinson was traded to the Vikings and Walter Jones got hurt and hasn't been the same since. He also missed all of last season.

I think that with another OT/OG combo that really gels, he could pull great numbers again. He hasn't taken nearly the amount of damage that most 30 yo RBs do.

I think more teams are going to want him than you think. He's not the same back he was 3-5 years ago, but he could still produce he just can't carry the ball 25+ times a game anymore. His max would probably be 20.

He think he could probably last 3-5 more years. I'd still pay him to be an back on my team. I coul see the Jets, Seahawks, Raiders, Browns, Packers, and maybe a few others giving him a shot.

Raiders (maybe, because Al Davis would overpay him)

Browns (no, they have alot of young talent)

Seahawks (I am pretty sure that they want a young 1st rounder)

Jets (0% chance that will happen, with Jones, Greene, and Washington).

Jones's contract is up at the end of the year and Washington can't be a starting back. He's like the Jets Kevin Faulk.

ok not by half i went a little bit overboard there....and in no way was i trying to diss him. i have always thought he was a GREAT RB stuck on a team that seemed to be underacheivers/or just could not get past the hump for whatever reason.

but his rushing ave. are def. going down.

2009 52.1
2008 69.4
2007 92.1
2006 113.4
2005 91.4
2004 89.0

No offense was taken. And yes, going from a run first team to pass first team over the last couple years will lower that.

Will have to wait and see where he goes. What kind of blockers will he have and what kind of offense.

He is a legitimate goal line threat still at least.

Plus Alexander only had a few great seasons before he fell off the map, LT has already had a ridiculously good career (possibly top 5 all-time, at least top 10).

He will still get signed and produce enough to be a goal line back or the 2nd back in a 2 headed monster. Obviously his career is coming to its end but its not completely there yet.

how much would you pay him to be a GL back? you can find GL backs anywhere and pay them barely anything.

I have heard rumors of him to Tennessee for Lendale White. LT does plenty at the 3rd and 4th quarter once Ds are tired...and in goal line short yardage. Not sure that is enough for the money he will probably want though.
