Threads / Monday Night Raw
A few minutes WWE Monday Night Raw went off the air for the February 8, 2010 episode. This week's guest host was Carl Edwards of NASCAR fame.
The show started with a bang in my opinion, Edwards was in the ring and Sheamus interrupts him demanding a few things like being the last to leave the chamber at the Elimination Chamber PPV in a couple of weeks. He threatened to hurt Carl if he didn't comply.
Out comes the ECW champion, Christian who traded a couple of barbs with Sheamus and next thing we know the Aflac 99 driver, Edwards, has made a match pitting the WWE champ, Sheamus against the ECW champ, Christian. And the match was to begin right away.
They went back and forth and it was a pretty good match, but in the end, the Ireland native was too much for the Toronto native and left the match victorious.
We had diva action with Gail Kim against Alicia Fox, the winner to face Maryse I believe they said in a Elimination Chamber, or at least the PPV. Kim got the win, Maryse came into the ring telling her that she wanted them to have the best match at the PPV and spoke something in French.
DX dropped the unified tag team championship in their three way elimination match to Big Show and the Miz who now refer to themselves as ShowMiz.
HBK left the ring and confronted Teddy Long demanding to be traded to Smackdown and entered into their Elimination Chamber match. Long told him that he'd love to have him, but the participants had already earned their spots. Shawn grabbed Long by the collar and Triple H came and broke it up asking him what was going on.
Shawn said his career was over and hit Teddy Long with Sweet Chin Music, and walked away, leaving the WWE universe in shock.
We learn that Ted Dibiase will face John Cena in a match tonight and that Randy Orton has arranged to face Cody Rhodes. In the match, Sheamus distracted Randy and Cody hit his Cross Rhodes finisher to upset the RKO master
Next week's guest host is announced to be Jerry Springer and Carl Edwards makes a match for Superstars this Thursday, Santino Marella vs. Jack Swagger. Later, he made three matches for next week's Raw, all six Elimination Chamber members will have singles matches.
Next week's matches include Kofi Kingston vs. Ted Dibiase, Randy Orton vs. Sheamus, and John Cena vs. Triple H.
The main event was Cena vs. Dibiase but the match never took place. Cena charged the ring and attacked Dibiase and took the fight outside the ring and applied the STF at ringside. After officials convinced him to break the hold, he got into the ring and cut a promo saying he was here to fight Batista, but The Animal did not appear. So, Cena said since he wasn't going to fight Batista, he wanted to talk to the Chairman and demanded that Mr. McMahon come down.
McMahon was in the business for the money, but he and the other superstars were in it for "the moment."
McMahon came down and Cena really went over on the Chairman, saying, McMahon was in the business for the money, but he and the other superstars were in it for "the moment." finally telling him that Bret Hart wanted to have one more moment and one more match at Wrestlemania with Mr. McMahon himself. Will he or won't he? He finally got McMahon flustered enough to say yes.
But then he changed his mind after Bret attacked him from behind. Bret broke a few things at ringside as the program went off the air.
All in all, I'd rate this show about a 7 out of 10. It was good and unpredictable. I enjoyed it a lot, plus I didn't fall asleep during it which is amazing in itself!!!

It was indeed a great night. Though, i was on the edge waiting for Batista to come and get his ass kicked by Cena.
I thought he would ambush Cena from behind. I assumed that was why Vince got in the ring all cocky. As a distraction so Batista can come out of the crowd and jump Cena.
