All Guns must be listed on your (2010) tax return!
As if we didn't have enough to be upset about!
If you have a gun, I hope it isn't registered!
Senate Bill SB-2099 will require us to put on our 2009 1040 federal tax
form
all guns that you have or own. It will require fingerprints and a tax of
$50
per gun.
| This bill was introduced on Feb. 24, 2009, by the Obama staff. BUT .
.
this bill will only become public knowledge 30 days after the new law
becomes effective ! This is an amendment to the Internal Revenue Act
of
1986. This means that the Finance Committee has passed this without the
Senate voting on it at all. Trust Obama ? ..... you must be kidding!
The full text of the IRS amendment is on the U.S. Senate homepage,U.S.
Senate IF you know who to call; I strongly suggest you do so. |
Text of H.R.45 as Introduced in House: Blair Holt's Firearm Licensing
and
Record of Sale Act of 2009 - U.S.... OpenCongress
It is coming fast and furious......Whatever Obama's secret Master Plan
is....this bunch is getting up to full steam now!
Very Important for you to be aware of a new bill HR 45 introduced into
the
House. This is the Blair Holt Firearm Licensing & Record of Sale Ac t of
2009.|
Even gun shop owners didn't know about this because the government is
trying
to fly it under the radar as a 'minor' IRS revision, and, as usual, the
'political' lawmakers did not read this bill before signing and
approving it
!
To find out about this - go to any government website and type in HR 45
or
Google HR 45 Blair Holt Firearm Licensing & Record of Sales Act of 2009.
You
will get all the information.
Basically this would make it illegal to own a firearm - any rifle with a
clip or ANY pistol unless:
-It is registered -You are fingerprinted -You supply a current Driver's
License -You supply your Social Security # -You will submit to a
physical &
mental evaluation at any time of their choosing -Each update - change or
ownership through private or public sale must be reported and costs $25
-
Failure to do so you automatically lose the right to own a firearm and
are
subject up to a year in jail. -There is a child provision clause on page
16
section 305 stating a child-access provision.. Gun must be locked and
inaccessible to any child under 18. -They would have the right to come
and
inspect that you are storing your gun safely away from accessibility to
children and fine is punishable for up to 5 yrs. in prison.
If you think this is a joke - go to the website and take your pick of
many
options to read this. It is long and lengthy. But, more and more people
are
becoming aware of this. Pass the word along. Any hunters in your family
pass
this along.|
This is just a "termite" approach to complete confiscation of guns and
disarming of our society to the point we have no defense - chip away a
little here and there until the goal is accomplished before anyone
realizes
it.
This is one to act on whether you own a gun or not..

A bill must be voted on by Congress to become a law. This bill has been stuck in a committee since February, it's not going anywhere.
I doubt this is true. As a card carrying member of the NRA I have not seen this in any news letter at all. If this is true at all the NRA would be going nuts right now.
No, it's one of those dead-on-arrival bills that they try passing every 10 years or so, and someone else thinks it's a good idea to get the online rumor mill going.

I also am a NRA member.......go to snopes link and read it......then you will know the facts...just cause our group did not bring it to light doesn’t mean it can't happen...go to snopes.com

Clearing Up the Rumors: The Truth About The “Gun Tax Bill”
Friday, May 29, 2009
In the last few weeks, NRA-ILA has received hundreds of e-mails warning us about “SB-2099,” a bill that would supposedly require you to report all your guns on your income tax return every April 15.
Like many rumors, there’s just a grain of truth to this one. Someone’s recycling an old alert, which wasn’t even very accurate when it was new.
There actually was a U.S. Senate bill with that number that would have taxed handguns—nine years ago. It was introduced by anti-gun Sen. Jack Reed (D-R.I.), and it would have included handguns under the National Firearms Act’s tax and registration scheme. This has nothing to do with anyone’s Form 1040, of course.
Fortunately, S. 2099 disappeared without any action by the Senate, back when Bill Clinton was still in the White House. We reported about it back then, just as we report about new anti-gun bills every week. Now, it’s time for gun owners to drop this old distraction and focus on the real threats at hand.
From one of the congressional pages:
The Blair Holt's Firearm Licensing and Record of Sale Act would establish a nationwide system for prohibiting unlicensed gun-ownership. If approved, the law would require gun owners to apply for five-year licenses to own firearms, and would give the U.S. Attorney General broad authority over the program.
This is a fringe bill with no co-sponsors that has virtually zero chance of becoming law.
When you read the actual bill, it's purpose: To provide for the implementation of a system of licensing for purchasers of certain firearms and for a record of sale system for those firearms, and for other purposes.
Basically, you'll have to register for a 5-year permit (gun owners already get permits), and record whenever the gun is sold.

Don't try to talk sense to some on here. If he would've done some research, he would have seen that it has been in a committee since February, basically dead already. There's no reason to think this bill will pass or even be heard on the floor of the House or Senate.
To say that this law has passed without a vote by Congress is patently untrue and just spreading rumors and fear, but I don't know why I expect any different on this site sometimes.

I hate the image of gun owners as being these hick retards that don't know their ass from their elbow.
hey....cool your jets sir....stop claiming I am an idot with out calling me out ok?.....I am spreading something sent to me from friends who are NRA memebers...you think all of congess reads all the bills they vote on? Please talk some sense? Do some research?
Lawrence Keane of the NSSF (National shooting Sports Foundation) states “If this bill passes, Democrats would likely lose (control of) the chamber in up-coming mid-election (2010). The leadership in the house knows that”. Keane says some 80 million-plus U.S. citizens own firearms, representing nearly half the households in the nation. He believes that House Democrats will allow the Blair Holt bill to die in subcommittee rather than risk the ire of so many pro-gun voters.
There is nothing wrong with letting people know what is in the pipeline for bills and purposed law changes. If that is being dumb or stupid then so be it…. I am dumb and stupid. ...But this bill exists...they are trying to piggy back it ....letting people know about it while it is in sub committee status is a good way to make sure it never hits the floor....don't call me out for posting news...whether you feel it is possible or not...it is news for those who own guns.. So get off your high horse and take yourself righteous attitude and stuff it.....the more folks know early on….the easier it is to head it off before it goes for a vote...by politicians who rarely read all they vote on....

High horse attitude? Pot calling the kettle black.
I work for an NRA member, I am friends with a lot of people in the NRA. They themselves said this bill was a no go months ago.
What I am calling you out for is dragging it back up as if it breaking news and imminent and a cold hard fact that, as you said, "All Guns MUST be listed..." when that is so far from the truth.

ok sorry for sounding alarmist...the title should have said if passed. ok? I stand corrected...
but as of 19th Aug 09 it is still under review and in subcommittee...and has not gone away....it was meant as an info thread....nothing more sorry if I mislead anyone.....

Hundreds of bills like this one go through Congress every day, and they die out just as quickly as the ones that came before. Nothing to see here, move right along.
