Dolphins WR Davone Bess is seeking to press charges against someone who was impersonating him on a Twitter site. Bess says that the Twitter feeds that were made in his name by “LamboWeezy” have no connection to him, and Bess’ agent, Kenny Zuckerman, has alerted the authorities to the incident.
In an email, Zuckerman writes that this Twitter site is 100 percent fake, and Bess plans to “prosecute this imposter to the fullest extent of the law. Fraud is fraud, and we are going to protect Davone and his reputation at any cost.”
Fans on a Dolphins message board began to doubt the validity of the statements made on the Twitter site, where the impersonator was also answering fan questions, according to Zuckerman. A representative of a Dolphins blog called “The Phinsider” brought the Twitter site to Zuckerman’s attention.
Bess is a second-year player out of Hawaii who caught one touchdown in 16 games in 2008.
Several cases like this have made the news lately, with St. Louis Cardinals manager Tony LaRussa recently reaching a settlement after suing Twitter over a fake account made in his name, according to The Associated Press.

Damn you Twitter!
What's the big deal with it anyway? I don't have one, so I can't really give a good opinion on it.

People are starting to make fake twitters of athletes. I mean since Twitter has gotten to the point where athletes actually use it to keep their fans updated, now people have to worry about if these athletes' twitter pages are fake or not especially with the stuff being said. lol
So if you ever make a fake twitter of an athlete, watch out, their cracking down and you could get sued. lol

This marks the 3rd time I've heard about somebody doing something like this
Previous Incidents
Tony LaRussa and Keith Olbermann

Yea, I see tons of fake celebrity pages on myspace, but since twitter is basically suited for celebrities and businesses, it's good that they are starting to crack down on fake twitters. Chad Johnson is always posting on his twitter and the stuff he says cracks me up. lol
I chill on rootzoo most of the time I am on the internet, but I also have a facebook, myspace and twitter. They serve their own purposes. lol
thats exaclty what i was thinking. Who cares, yeah he is an athlete and all, but you think you would pick chad pennington if you wanted to pick a dolphin.
What is so great about Twitter? I don't see anything good with those sights such as myspace, facebook, and twitter. I havbe stayed away from the m my whole life. What are they good for? causing trouble and wasting time.
